How Does Survivor Bias Affect Epidemiological Studies?
Survivor bias can distort study outcomes by over-representing certain characteristics or traits that contributed to survival, while under-representing or ignoring those that led to non-survival. For instance, if a study on a novel treatment for a disease only includes data from patients who survived, it may mistakenly conclude that the treatment is more effective than it actually is.
