Years of Life Lost (YLL): This is calculated by multiplying the number of deaths at each age by a standard life expectancy remaining at that age. It accounts for the impact of premature death. Years Lived with Disability (YLD): This is calculated by multiplying the number of incident cases of a disease by the average duration of the disease and a weight factor that reflects the severity of the disease on a scale from 0 (perfect health) to 1 (death).
