Snow's analysis revealed a cluster of cholera cases around the Broad Street Pump. He found that many affected individuals had consumed water from this pump. Further investigation indicated that a nearby cesspit had leaked into the pump's water supply, contaminating it with cholera bacteria. Notably, Snow's work also included a control group: individuals who lived in the same area but did not use the pump, and these people had significantly fewer cases of cholera.
