What is the Epidemiological Impact of Ebola Virus?
Ebola virus outbreaks have significant epidemiological impacts. They cause substantial morbidity and mortality, strain healthcare systems, and disrupt social and economic structures. The largest outbreak to date occurred in West Africa from 2014 to 2016, resulting in more than 28,000 cases and over 11,000 deaths. Effective epidemiological response requires rapid identification, contact tracing, quarantine, and treatment to control the spread of the virus.
