Women of advanced maternal age (35 years and older) face increased risks of complications during pregnancy and childbirth. These complications can include gestational diabetes, hypertension, and a higher likelihood of cesarean delivery. Additionally, the risk of chromosomal abnormalities such as Down syndrome increases with maternal age. Advanced maternal age is also associated with a higher risk of miscarriage and stillbirth.
