Recent outbreaks of diseases such as COVID-19, Zika, and Ebola have highlighted the need for robust surveillance and rapid response systems. Factors such as zoonotic spillover, antimicrobial resistance, and human encroachment on wildlife habitats contribute to the emergence of new infectious threats.
