Pathogens have evolved various mechanisms to evade immune surveillance. For instance, some viruses can inhibit the presentation of antigens, making it difficult for T cells to recognize them. Others may rapidly mutate, altering their antigens and escaping detection. Bacteria can form biofilms that protect them from immune attacks, and some cancer cells can downregulate MHC molecules to avoid NK cell detection.
