John Snow employed a systematic approach to investigate the source of the cholera outbreak. He mapped the cases of cholera in the Broad Street area and identified a pattern. By interviewing local residents, he discovered that many of the affected individuals had consumed water from the public water pump on Broad Street. He used this data to support his theory that the water from the pump was contaminated and was the source of the cholera outbreak.
