Becoming an epidemiologist typically requires advanced education. Most epidemiologists hold at least a master's degree in public health (MPH) with a focus on epidemiology. Some may also have a doctoral degree (PhD or DrPH) in epidemiology or a related field. In addition to formal education, practical experience through internships and fieldwork is invaluable.
