What is the Significance of P-Values and Confidence Intervals?
[P-Values]( ) and [confidence intervals]( ) (CIs) are statistical tools used to assess the reliability of the study results:
- P-Value indicates the probability that the observed results occurred by chance. A p-value less than 0.05 is typically considered statistically significant. - Confidence Interval provides a range within which the true effect size lies with a certain level of confidence, usually 95%. Narrow CIs indicate more precise estimates.
