Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) is a method used to screen for certain genetic conditions in a developing fetus. This test analyzes small fragments of fetal DNA that are circulating in the pregnant woman's blood. Unlike invasive procedures like amniocentesis or chorionic villus sampling (CVS), NIPT poses no risk of miscarriage.
