Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that allows surgeons to access the inside of the abdomen and pelvis without making large incisions. It uses a device called a laparoscope, which is a long, thin tube with a high-intensity light and a high-resolution camera at the front. The camera sends images to a video monitor, allowing the surgeon to see inside the body in real-time.
