Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic condition characterized by elevated levels of blood glucose (hyperglycemia) due to deficiencies in insulin production, insulin action, or both. T1D is an autoimmune disorder where the body's immune system attacks insulin-producing cells, while T2D is more closely associated with lifestyle factors and insulin resistance.
