Cost Utility Analysis (CUA) is a type of economic evaluation used in the field of epidemiology to compare the relative costs and outcomes (or utilities) of different interventions. Unlike cost-effectiveness analysis, which typically measures outcomes in natural units such as life-years gained, CUA measures outcomes in terms of quality-adjusted life years (QALYs) or disability-adjusted life years (DALYs). This allows for a more comprehensive assessment of the value of medical interventions by incorporating both the quantity and quality of life.
