Catheter ablation is a medical procedure used to treat certain types of cardiac arrhythmias, particularly atrial fibrillation. During the procedure, a catheter is inserted through the blood vessels to reach the heart tissue. High-frequency electrical energy is then used to destroy small areas of heart tissue that are causing the abnormal heart rhythm.
