Pneumonia is primarily transmitted through the inhalation of infectious particles. It can spread via droplets from a cough or sneeze, close contact with an infected person, or by touching contaminated surfaces and then touching the face. Some types of pneumonia can also spread through bloodborne pathogens, especially in newborns.
