Transmission of Candida glabrata typically occurs endogenously, meaning it originates from the patientâs own flora. However, nosocomial transmission, or hospital-acquired infections, can occur through contaminated medical equipment, hands of healthcare workers, and other hospital settings. Person-to-person transmission is less common but not impossible.
